Who we are
Eclipse Serenity (“we”, “us”) provides yoga, Reiki, sound healing and aromatherapy sessions and workshops, in person and online. This website is https://eclipse-serenity.com. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy and we handle it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
You can contact us about your data at info.eclipseserenity@gmail.com.

What personal data we collect and why
We only collect what we need:
- Enquiries: if you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address and your message so that we can reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in answering enquiries.
- Bookings: when you book an online class through Calendly we receive your name, email address, the time you booked and any answers you give. Legal basis: it is needed to provide the session you asked for (contract).
- Payments: when you pay through Stripe we receive confirmation of your payment, your name and email address. We never see or store your full card details. Legal basis: contract, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
- Website use and security: our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, in order to run and protect the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the site secure and working.
- Comments: if comments are enabled and you leave one, we collect the details in the form, your IP address and browser details to help filter spam (using Akismet). Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Health and wellbeing information
Information about your health is special category data. Please do not send health details through the contact form or by email unless we have asked for them. If we ask for relevant information before a session (for example an injury or a health condition that affects what is safe for you), we will only use it to look after you during the session and only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Online booking and payments
Booking is provided by Calendly and payment by Stripe. Both are separate companies with their own privacy policies and handle your data as described there:
- Calendly: https://calendly.com/privacy
- Stripe: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy
The Calendly booking calendar is embedded on our online classes page. It is run by Calendly, which sets its own cookies and asks for your choice inside the calendar. If you prefer, you can book directly on the Calendly website. Stripe’s payment button is part of the payment service you request and is used to process your payment and prevent fraud.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose your preferences. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings icon at the bottom of the page. We use:
- Essential cookies: needed for the site to work, to remember your cookie choice, and for security. These do not need your consent.
- Payment cookies: Stripe may set cookies or similar technologies when you use the payment button, to process payments and prevent fraud.
- Booking cookies: the embedded Calendly booking calendar sets its own cookies, and asks for your choice about optional ones inside the calendar.
Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) also collects technical performance and security data about visits to the site, such as your IP address and device information, to operate the service.
Third-party content on this site
Some content on the site is loaded from other services, which can receive your IP address and device information when your browser fetches it: Google (reviews displayed on our Testimonials page, including reviewers’ profile pictures) and Buy Me a Coffee (our support button). We also link to our Instagram profile; if you follow that link, Instagram’s own privacy policy applies.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the site and our sessions: our website hosting provider (GoDaddy), Calendly, Stripe, Google (email delivery for our website messages and review content), and Akismet (spam filtering). They act on our instructions or, in the case of Stripe, as an independent controller for payments and fraud prevention. Some of these providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK–US data bridge, or standard contractual clauses. We may also share information where the law requires it.
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries and emails: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Booking and payment records: 6 years, as required for accounting and tax purposes.
- Health and wellbeing information you give us for a session: only as long as you remain a client, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Spam-filtering data from comments: for as long as the comment is published.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed about how we use your data; access the data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to our use of it; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect anything we did before you withdrew it).
To use any of these rights, email info.eclipseserenity@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our online services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 through this website. If you believe a child has sent us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
